WICA Convention Approaching
Register today for the WICA 2017 Annual Convention in Seattle, Washington. Join fellow members in Seattle, Washington at the beautiful Fairmont Olympic Hotel as we engage for three energizing and productive days of conversation and education.
This year we will be staying at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Rooms are available at the group rate of $259/night excluding taxes and fees and can be booked online here or by phone at (206) 621-1700 (be sure to mention the group name: WICA 2017 Annual Convention.) Room reservations and WICA Registration close on Monday, August 21, 2017.
Convention begins Sunday, September 10th when attendees will be welcomed at the Opening Reception from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Convention continues Monday morning with a Keynote Breakfast featuring the seminar “Technology, Innovation and Politics: Can Contractors Rise to the Challenge?” by David Allen with McKinstry. Following the Keynote Presentation, David Norris from Hermanson Company will give a presentation on emerging Energy Codes entitled “Mechanical Insulation: R U Aware?” Rounding out our educational morning will be our final seminar, “The Basics: Knowing What Your Contract Says and How to Get Paid” by Kelly Sloan with Lanak & Hanna.
Monday afternoon, members can participate in the Annual Convention Golf Tournament at Jefferson Park Golf Club with stunning views of Mount Rainer and Downtown Seattle. During the Golf Tournament spouses can attend the Spouse Program. Due to an unforeseen closure of the Sky City Restaurant at the top of the Space Needle, WICA is in the process of making new arrangements for the Spouse Program and will notify the membership once plans have been solidified.
On the final day of convention members can look forward to the morning of business meetings with Contractors & Manufacturers having a joint roundtable breakfast before meeting separately and the WICA Annual Business Meeting. Finally Contractor Members will meet with Union Leadership and discuss the most pressing labor issues. The convention will conclude Tuesday evening with the President’s Reception and Dinner which will be a business formal event held in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel’s opulent Georgian Room.
