Rooms Going Fast for the 2016 WICA Annual Convention

Join us this fall at the 2016 WICA Annual Convention, September 11-13, at the beautiful Bacara Resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean from Santa Barbara, California.

WICA has negotiated a special room rate, including the three days before and after the convention, but space is filling up fast.

 

A few Items to Note:

WICA has secured a discounted room rate of $239 per night plus fees and taxes. Please be sure to make a room reservation prior to the hotel reservation deadline of August 11, 2016. Note that while we will do our best to accommodate everyone, once the WICA room block is sold out, there are no guarantees that you will be able to get a room at the hotel. To avoid any issues with securing a room, please make your reservation as soon as possible.
Our educational lineup at the convention will feature speaker and published author Mark Matteson who will provide both our keynote session and breakout session on the topics of “Freedom from Fear” and “It’s About TIME.”  For this year’s optional activities, WICA will host its Annual Convention Golf Tournament at the Sandpiper Golf Club. While there will be no host transportation to the course (located next door to the resort,) WICA will be providing a hosted, boxed lunch to all golf tournament participants. Additionally, this year’s spouse program will be on Monday and will feature a “Passport to Los Olivos” excursion, including lunch, wine tasting, shopping and more in the nearby town of Los Olivos.

Finally, I think many of you are aware that WICA launched a new website and app earlier this year. The WICA App includes a section specifically for convention information where you can go to register, see the schedule of events, sponsors, attendee lists and more. I strongly encourage you to download the WICA App now from the Apple App or Google Play stores and use it as you plan for this year’s convention.

CONFERENCE SPEAKER: MARK MATTESON

Mark Matteson started his career as an HVAC technician in 1976. He is one of those rare professionals who can say he is a speaker, consultant, and author, and mean it. He has attracted clients in HVAC contracting, distribution and manufacturing as well as such organizations like Microsoft, T-Mobile, John Deere, Conoco-Phillips, Aflac, and other Fortune 1000 companies on three continents. His annual speaking commitment typically means 40 keynotes, 20 seminars and workshops and five to ten consulting engagements around the world.

A committed writer, Mark has written five books, including the international best seller, “Freedom from Fear,” that has been translated into Japanese and French. Mark is also the author of popular e-books: “Presenting Like a Pro,” “Sales Success Strategies,” and “Customer Service Excellence.” His monthly e-newsletter has gone out to 6,000 people a month since 2003. He also tweets and comments on LinkedIn daily.

He has been interviewed and quoted frequently in the media. He is considered a thought-leader, an idea reporter, and agent of change who teaches his clients how to get twice as much done in half the time. He has done work internationally in Australia, Canada, Aruba, and Turkey. Furthermore, he has worked in 47 states in the U.S.

He resides in Edmonds, Wash., with his wife Debbie of 35 years, and they have three grown sons. Mark takes great pride in the fact that he flunked high school English. His website is sparkingsuccess.net.
