WICA Welcomes New Staff Member
WICA is proud is announce an addition to the WICA Staff, Carrie Francis. Carrie will work as the Director of Meetings and Events alongside long-time Director of Meetings and Events, Sarah Hill. Carrie is learning the ropes from Sarah who is departing from our organization at the end of October just prior to the arrival of her second child.
Carrie comes to us after 18 years with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake where she served as the Vice President of Operations. She began her career with the nationally recognized non-profit immediately following college and excelled as frontline staff. She worked as a Program Director and Club Director at multiple locations before taking on a role as key member of their administration. Carrie led the Operations Department and managed a team of over 100 employees. Carrie continues to grow professionally, participating in Advanced Leadership Programs, gaining certification as a Prevention Specialist and developing multiple partnerships across three counties. Carrie has a broad range of experience simultaneously managing government grants and developing strong relationships with government officials and managing an operations budget of 4 million dollars. Lastly, Carrie played a critical role in successfully merging the two largest Boys & Girls Clubs organizations in Utah.
Originally from St. Louis, Carrie attended high school in Utah and graduated from Utah State University, with a BS in Parks & Recreation. When she is not chauffeuring her two teenage daughters around or trying to stay awake while her husband explains the impact of invasive species on the local ecosystem, she likes to cook and vacation. Carrie is very excited to learn and grow in our industry
